CELEBRATING 79 YEARS OF UTILITY JURISDICTION SERVICE AND COMMITMENT!
Since March 16, 1945, IBEW Local 1439 has been representing outside physical workers in the utility industry. This includes distribution and transmission linework outside of power plants, substation maintenance and construction, building service, meter department, meter reading, underground, trouble, stores, utility shop and salvage, gas, and motor transportation employees of the companies under contract with us. The Local also represents several workers in multiple municipalities.

Objectives of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers
- Organize all workers in the entire electrical industry in the United States and Canada, including all those in public utilities and electrical manufacturing, into local unions
- Promote reasonable methods of work
- Cultivate feelings of friendship among those of our industry
- Settle all disputes between employers and employees by arbitration (if possible)
- Assist each other in sickness or distress
- Secure employment
- Reduce the hours of daily labor
- Secure adequate pay for our work
- Seek a higher and higher standard of living
- Seek security for the individual
- By legal and proper means to elevate the moral, intellectual, and social conditions of our members, their families and dependents, in the interest of a higher standard of citizenship
